![]() ![]() The actual footpath is 5.8km (although very pleasant). The claim of a 1 mile walk to the pub (The Woolpack) along a path is absolute nonsense unless you count a B road as a footpath far from ideal with young children. I have since read that this has been a reported issue before in reviews. I appreciate this is out of the control of the campsite but perhaps the owners/staff should report the issue, not least as we are still exercising social restrictions due to COVID19. In addition, there was some all night rave going on until around 5am in a distant field (I assume). Very disappointing that staff seem uninterested in this. Despite there being ‘rules’ on music playing, a large group were doing their best to go against it up until near midnight. Being able to take our dog and have open fires are all big positives. Nice field or wood camping with lots of woodland areas for children to explore. Stayed here for one night (our friends for two). In short, well worth staying here, just be prepared to have to endure loud drunk people until the early morning until the owners get a bit more proactive in enforcing their own rules.… These two groups of people cannot happily use the same site. It feels as if the site is trying to cater to both boozed up stag parties and back to nature wild camping. This isn't the fault of the site, but is very much their responsibility to get a grip of. However there's no accounting for inconsiderate people, and our stay was spoilt a noisy group singing along to a radio until midnight. The 'no music' rule is a nice touch as it in theory ties in with the back to nature ethos of the site. Toilets and showers are basic but clean and well maintained. The woodland is brilliant for kids to explore, build dens and have swallows and amazons type adventures. The freedom to pitch wherever you like is fantastic, you don't get stuck with a patch of damp mud like other sites. Such a shame as previously it was one of our favourite rustic campsites. So it appears that no-one can be bothered to maintain the facilities, they were grubby and falling apart. I tried 5 different showers, before I found one that worked and even then it clearly hadn't been cleaned in some time, it was pretty grim in there. I had already been informed that some of the showers were not working, So I thought I would use the outdoor one and just have a cold shower, but even that wasn't working, not a drip. The little pots for ladling sawdust down the loo were cracked and falling apart and neither cubicle had been cleaned in some time, they were covered in cobwebs and sawdust. Of the two drop loos nearest us, one didn't have a working lock and both of them the panels in the door were coming apart, meaning you could see straight into the cubicle. Also, due to the long grass we were unable to see all the little holes in the ground, which were ankle breakers. They had notices up about Ticks, but didn't think it important enough to keep the grass shorter, considering there are many children running around in shorts. The grass was really long all over the campsite, when previously it was mowed, apart from the meadow at the top which was kept long for the insects. The previous managers Dave and his family were awesome and clearly hard working. We have stayed here 10-15 times, but not for the last two years. We stayed here last weekend and were very disappointed. Be Live Collection Marrakech Adults Only.Hotels near Luton Airport Parkway Station.Hotels with Complimentary Breakfast in Alresford.
